David D. Burhans Inter-religious Prayer Room
Located in Wilton Center Room 206
One of the most unique spaces on any college campus - this sacred room for people of any spiritual practice is located in the Wilton Center. Although the room appears empty, the cabinets house sacred objects from several major world religions. The empty appearance creates a uniform room that does not bear images of any one religion, so that the space can be welcoming to all. Currently the space is used by our Zen, Muslim, Jewish, Hindu, and Christian brothers and sisters. The room is named for Chaplain Emeritus David D. Burhans, who served the University of Richmond for thirty years. For more information on the prayer room schedule, please contact Joshua Dickerson in the Office of the Chaplaincy.
