Rev. Dr. Jamie Lynn Haskins

Rev. Dr. Jamie Lynn Haskins serves as the Chaplain for Spiritual Life and Communications Director at the University of Richmond. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in English and Religious Studies from Stetson University, a Master of Divinity degree from Vanderbilt Divinity School and Doctor of Ministry from Union Presbyterian Seminary.

Before joining the University of Richmond Chaplaincy staff, Jamie Lynn was the College Chaplain and Director of the Center for Faith & Service at Westminster College in Columbia, MO, and served as the Minister of Faith Formation & Social Justice at University Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) in Seattle, WA.

Her work is characterized by a commitment to providing expansive and radically inclusive spiritual support, care and programming to students across a variety of religious and spiritual traditions, as well as those who identify as non-religious. Jamie Lynn’s focus, informed by her background in community organizing, includes supporting individuals who have experienced religious trauma, LGBTQIA+ students, and first-generation students. She strives to foster a welcoming and inclusive environment that empowers and equips all students in their spiritual and/or religious development.

In addition to her role at the University of Richmond, Jamie Lynn is active in the community, serving on the board of the Virginia Interfaith Center for Public Policy and the Council for Richmond Hill, where she chairs the Community Committee. She is a board member of the Disciples Divinity House at Vanderbilt Divinity School, co-chairing the Personnel Committee, and a member and trustee at Seventh Street Christian Church (Disciples of Christ). Jamie Lynn co-edited the book Acting on Faith: Stories of Courage, Activism, and Hope Across Religions, published by Chalice Press in 2020.

When she’s not at work, Jamie Lynn enjoys live music, hiking, camping, exploring Richmond's vibrant food scene, and making her way towards the coastline with her partner, daughter, and fluffy dog.
